St. Vincent de Paul Society ( Phone Number 662-378-3105)

The St. Vincent de Paul Society is an international Catholic organization of lay people, founded in 1833 by Federic Ozanam and five friends while attending the Sorbonne University in Paris. Placed under the patronage of St. Vincent de Paul, it derives its inspiration from his thinking and work in loving and caring for the poor. This society is open to all who wish to live their faith in a spirit of love to the needy and poor. No work of charity is foreign to the society. It serves everyone regardless of creed, opinion, race, or status.

In 1993 St. Joseph and Sacred Heart churches formed a St. Vincent de Paul Conference in Greenville to better serve the poor of the community. We offer our services to individuals and families in need. Each week we provide assistance of some kind to over 100 families. All our labor is volunteer, out of love for God and his poor people. We consider ourselves privileged to serve the poor, and we will help them in every way we can.

We receive financial support from St. Joseph and Sacred Heart churches, some non-Catholic churches, businesses and some faithful parishioners.

We would like to expand our ministry to serve the needy and poor but we are limited by finances and volunteers. We have two donated vacant buildings available to us but we need help to get them ready for use.

How you can help:

Support us with your prayers and interest.

Contribute food, clothes, utensils, furniture, books, etc.

Contribute financially on a monthly basis or now and again.

Give a few hours of your time helping unpacking, hanging clothes, fixing food boxes...
